# Medical Disclaimer
Last Updated: August 30, 2026
This Medical Disclaimer applies to https://dailyselfmassage.com, all Daily Self Massage digital courses (including Release Your Jaw and any other self-massage courses we offer), related videos, downloads, emails, blog posts, ads, and checkout pages (together, the “Content”).
The Content is published by Brooke Neborsky LLC, doing business as Daily Self Massage and Après Surf. The instructor is Brooke Neborsky, a licensed massage therapist in the State of Hawaii.
By viewing or using the Content, you acknowledge this Disclaimer. If you buy a course, you also accept the Course Enrollment Agreement & Liability Release, which repeats and adds to these points.
## 1. Educational only
The Content is for educational and informational purposes only. It teaches self-massage and related self-care ideas you can choose to practice on yourself.
The Content is not medical advice, dental advice, chiropractic advice, physical-therapy advice, or any other professional health advice. It is not a diagnosis. It is not a treatment plan. It is not a substitute for an in-person examination by a qualified clinician.
Nothing on the Site is an instruction to delay, ignore, or abandon care from a physician, dentist, TMJ specialist, physical therapist, or other licensed provider.
## 2. We do not treat TMJ, headaches, migraines, or ear disorders
Daily Self Massage courses, including Release Your Jaw, are not a treatment for TMJ or TMJD, headaches, migraines, ear ringing, ear fullness, vertigo, or any disease or disorder.
Clicking, popping, locking, bite changes, unexplained tooth pain, hearing changes, and ear symptoms can have dental, medical, or joint causes that self-massage cannot identify and should not be used to treat. If you have those symptoms, see a dentist, TMJ specialist, or physician. Do not use the course as your diagnostic tool.
## 3. No therapist-client relationship
Brooke Neborsky is a licensed massage therapist. That license does not turn an online course into a private treatment.
Buying a course, watching a video, emailing a question, or following a routine does not create a therapist-client relationship, a doctor-patient relationship, or any professional duty of care beyond the ordinary duties of a company selling educational digital content.
We do not assess your medical history, image your joints, or take responsibility for whether a technique is appropriate for your body. That decision is yours, in consultation with your own clinicians.
## 4. Talk to your clinician first
You should consult a physician, dentist, or other qualified healthcare provider before you begin any self-massage or myofascial routine, especially if you have or have had:
1. Jaw, face, neck, or head injury, or recent surgery in those areas.
2. Diagnosed TMJ or TMJD, a currently locked jaw, or acute joint inflammation.
3. Chronic pain, neurologic symptoms, or unexplained numbness or swelling.
4. Pregnancy.
5. High blood pressure, circulatory problems, bleeding disorders, or you take blood thinners (ask your clinician first).
6. Active infection, fever, or systemic illness.
7. Any other condition your clinician has told you to be careful with when applying pressure to the face, jaw, or neck.
If your clinician tells you not to do this work, do not do it. A course purchase is not a reason to override clinical advice. Refunds after access is granted are limited as stated in the Refund Policy.
## 5. Intra-oral (buccal) self-massage
Release Your Jaw includes intra-oral (buccal) self-massage. That means you may be taught to place clean fingers inside your own mouth and apply pressure to muscles along the jaw from the inside.
Intra-oral self-massage is not the same as a dental procedure, an intra-oral treatment by a licensed therapist in clinic, or a substitute for a dentist, TMJ specialist, or physician. Doing this work on yourself at home carries extra risk compared with external massage only.
### 5.1 Do not practice intra-oral work if
Do not put fingers inside your mouth for these techniques if any of the following is true. Skip the intra-oral portions, or skip the course, and get in-person care instead.
1. Acute TMJ inflammation, a currently locked jaw, or a jaw you cannot open and close through a normal range without catching.
2. Infection, open sores, ulcers, or active oral disease (including untreated dental abscess or widespread gum infection).
3. Recent dental work, oral surgery, implants, braces adjustments, extractions, or other intra-oral procedures. Wait until your dentist or oral surgeon says the area has healed and that self-pressure is acceptable.
4. Numbness in the face, mouth, or tongue that is new or unexplained, unexplained swelling, or fever.
5. You have a bleeding disorder or you take blood thinners: ask your clinician first, and do not begin intra-oral work unless that clinician agrees it is appropriate for you.
If you are unsure whether a contraindication applies, do not guess. Ask your dentist or physician.
### 5.2 Hygiene
1. Wash your hands thoroughly before any intra-oral work.
2. Do not practice intra-oral techniques if you have cuts, hangnails, open wounds, or infection on the fingers you would put in your mouth.
3. Do not share gloves, tools, or unwashed hands with another person. This course is for your own body only.
4. Stop and wash if you touch an unclean surface mid-routine.
### 5.3 Stop immediately if
Stop the technique and, if symptoms are more than brief and mild, seek professional care if you have:
1. Sharp pain (this is different from ordinary pressure or a sore-muscle ache).
2. Jaw locking, catching, or a sudden change in bite.
3. Dizziness, faintness, or unusual lightheadedness.
4. Bleeding from the gums, cheeks, or joints that is not a trivial, brief spotting after you already knew your gums were sensitive.
5. Anything that feels wrong, including spreading numbness, visual change, or trouble breathing or swallowing.
You are the only person who can feel what is happening in your body. The video cannot see you. If something feels wrong, stop.
## 6. Other physical risks (external and intra-oral)
Self-massage can cause or aggravate muscle soreness, bruising, joint irritation, headache, nerve symptoms, emotional release or distress, and flaring of a condition you already have. Pressure on the face and jaw can also worsen pain if the problem is a joint, a tooth, an infection, or a medical condition rather than tight muscle.
You assume those risks if you choose to practice. See also the Course Enrollment Agreement & Liability Release.
## 7. No guarantees and no outcome promises
Individual results vary. Some people feel better. Some feel nothing. Some feel worse at first or overall. We make no promise that you will release your jaw, reduce headaches, stop grinding or clenching, prevent joint damage, heal your body, or live pain-free.
Any story, review, or before-and-after description is one person’s experience. It is not a typical-result claim and is not a guarantee that you will get the same outcome.
## 8. Marketing claims do not override this Disclaimer
The Site, ads, emails, social posts, and checkout pages may use short, hopeful language about tension, comfort, or self-care. Reviews on the Site may include comments from in-person Après Surf clients or product customers as well as course students.
None of that language overrides this Medical Disclaimer, the Course Enrollment Agreement & Liability Release, or the Refund Policy. If a headline, FAQ, ad, or testimonial seems to promise a cure, a treatment, or a medical result, this Disclaimer controls: the Content is education, not treatment, and results are not guaranteed.
## 9. Emergency and urgent symptoms
The Site is not an emergency service. If you have trouble breathing, chest pain, sudden severe headache, facial droop, sudden weakness, uncontrolled bleeding, a jaw trauma, or any symptom that might be a medical emergency, call emergency services (in the US, 911) or go to emergency care. Do not wait for an email reply from us.
